true blue baby

Posing for blog photos; a work in progress..
This is what I wore to a baby shower last weekend. I wish I took pictures of the mommy-to-be's outfit because her maxi dress was goorgeouss; a soft aqua-green halter top cut gown that flowed over her cute belly down to the floor. It was a fun afternoon, and we enjoyed a few cocktails and appys while catching up with friends and playing games.
I've been looking for a sheer shirt for the longest time. Everyone and their mom have the sheer white ones, but I haven't been able to find one! I stumbled upon this royal blue one at F21. The shirt is longer in the back than it is in the front, which I love. I didn't want to do the typical solid cami underneath, so I opted for a lace one that peeks through, thanks to the suggestion from the girl at Costa Blanca! The skinnies are from Zara and have the perfect stretch in them. The zippers at the ankle and on one of the pockets add abit of edge to an otherwise plain pair of pants. The shoes from Aldo are my go-to badass stilettos. The BCBG clutch and Michael Kors rubber chronograph watch are birthday gifts from some of my best girls. I may have been a tiny bit spoiled this year :]

life through my crappy blackberry photos

I save a ton of photos on my phone and periodically delete them when I think the reason my Blackberry is lagging is because of this fact and not because it's a shitty phone. It's hard deleting deleting photos because I can be quite sentimental. Anyways, here are some photos that might give you a snippet of the things that ran through my mind in the last month.
The footnote version: cats, food, food, a bunny.

This is sooo our family cat.

This is him! Kirby.

Cramming before our midterm. Not that I'm bragging, but I beat my classmate who tutored me. Haii Vince!

King Crab for my birthdayy.

My best friend made me the dopest birthday cake; a ninja!

I realize round looking animals make me turn into a puddle of mush.

Hit the indecisve button on its head.

Oysters and the Suika drink: at Suika.

Platter of amazing food from Rodney's Oyster Bar: ocean salad, crab cakes, shrimp+spinach linguine, oysters. And for those who haven't tried it yet; their caesars. Oh Lord.

My sister learned how to make quinoa. This made me a happy person because it was extremely delicious and not to mention healthy! It also cost me 326 dollars because that's how much it took to fix one of my molars after I chipped it on a raw piece of quinoa.

How we celebrated St.Patty's this year. Zucchini log house and beer.

I think I need instagram! It would make these photos look alot cooler than they are.

tickets to the theatre

So..a couple of months ago, my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to Beauty and the Beast onstage at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Not having a clue this was happening and under his recommendation to dress comfy since we were just going for 'dinner' and a 'movie' (I don't know why I airquoted these things, because we did actually go for dinner, and ended up watching a movie the next day), I dressed down. And then..surplise! Tickets to the theatre! To one of the best Disney movies of my childhood years! Can't wait to see Belle and the Beast dance to 'Tale as Old as Time"!! and then 'Awe shit, I really should've dressed up.'
Because everyone looked like this when I arrived at the theatre:

and like this:
and this:

and this was me:

Okay ladies, so I tried to think 'be confident, you got this.', but even with the bf's support of 'those b*tches just be jealous and cray' (maybe he said something more along the lines of 'well I think you look nice'), I know I still looked like an idiot. I'm all for dressing to the beat of your own drum, but this is the theatres we're talking about!
'You could've at least done without the fishnet stockings b' Oh hayy, thanks boyfriend.

hot pants

My pleased face.

Hello lovelies. Had to jump on the coloured jeans trend! This one was easy though; I've always had a thing for salmon/coral. This looks especially good on tanned skin!...I'm not tanned.
My favourite part of these jeans are the zipper pockets in the back, which of course, I didn't show; boo.
Naturally, with the sun shining all weekend, I pretended to play summer; I ran, played some sports, bladed, drank beverages, and wore sandals. What a smart move because as soon as these pictures were taken, the sun went down, and I froze my piggies off sitting on the patio at the Burrard Bridge Bar on Beach Avenue sipping on my beer, while trying to look cool. It was so cold, I had to order more alcohol. I know; what bad luck. Btw, the Portabello mushroom burger is O-somme. Hope everyone is having an inspiring week.

Happy New Year loves!! I hope everyone had a good holiday and gained 3+ lbs like I did! (to those who have metabolism; screw you :*(
Last year, I thought I had a pretty good resolution (2011 tagline: f*ck it, let's do it.) It served me well and I have no complaints. In short, it was a year of change for me.  :)
What are my resolutions for this year? Pretty typical, but: be more healthy (this is vague, so in specific: drink abit less, be more food/health conscious) and get back to blogging. (I want to add to this list, but I have a feeling it'll turn into a bucket list. So one thing at a time..)
So here I am. And I ran 6km today. But now I have a blister on my foot. So I nursed the pain with a slice of pizza. #fail
Can you guys tell me what your New Year resolutions are??

Thanks for helping me take these pictures Kev!

diy: swarovski crystal studded shoes

Before: Nine West heels
After

This was something we helped our girlfriend do for her wedding day. Her original dream shoes  were the swarovski crystal studded Christian Louboutins (also known as every other girl on the face of the planet's dream shoes):

She couldn't make sense of the price tag for the one day, so she opted for a more creative and budget friendly project. Put a couple of girlfriends together, a packet of loose swarovski crystals, a tube of clear adhesive, tweezers, a drink or two, and voila! As tedious as it looks, I had such a ball doing it. And yes, she looked every part the glitz and glam we thought she would on her wedding day. Beautiful shoes for a beautiful girl :)

helloo mikey

Some people start with their shoes, and dress from the bottom up. Others pick their outfit first, and dress from top to bottom. This weekend, I'm going to plan everything around this clutch.

Hey everyone, I just got back from my 10 day trip to Vegas and California. Did I party in Vegas? Yes. Did I have a magical time at Disneyland? Yes. And most importantly, did I shop? Oh hell yes. I still need to format my pictures from the trip, so for now, I'll leave you with the one below. :)

oh canayea

And another reason why I've been MIA in the fashion department is because all I've been wearing is THIS:

Our Vancouver Canucks are in the Conference Finals! Thanks cameraguy for the stellar photograph; in reality, my vert is just past 3 inches. *sad

keep calm and high tea

I used afternoon tea with the girls as an excuse to wear this maxi dress. Hardly something to wear to sip tea and nibble baby sandwiches in and more appropriate for the beach, but I have a big bag stuffed with new purchases that has not seen the light of day because the weather's been so whack here in Vancouver. As I'm writing this, the sun is shining and it's gorgeous outside!! Tomorrow's forecast: cloudy with showers. Amyways, TGIF to all, and happy long weekend to the Canadians! Looking forward to the jam packed next few days! Yes..photos to follow:)

Doesn't look like alot for 3 people, but surprisingly filling.
Looks are deceiving. Each pot felt like it weighed 20 pounds.
High tea-ing with the girls was a refreshing change from the usual dinner and drinks.

Your choice of afternoon teas at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, BC. I had the Jasmine Pearl.
