Happy New Year loves!! I hope everyone had a good holiday and gained 3+ lbs like I did! (to those who have metabolism; screw you :*(
Last year, I thought I had a pretty good resolution (2011 tagline: f*ck it, let's do it.) It served me well and I have no complaints. In short, it was a year of change for me.  :)
What are my resolutions for this year? Pretty typical, but: be more healthy (this is vague, so in specific: drink abit less, be more food/health conscious) and get back to blogging. (I want to add to this list, but I have a feeling it'll turn into a bucket list. So one thing at a time..)
So here I am. And I ran 6km today. But now I have a blister on my foot. So I nursed the pain with a slice of pizza. #fail
Can you guys tell me what your New Year resolutions are??

part of your world

During my cousin's visit from the east coast, I got the opportunity to play tourist in my own city and went to the Vancouver Aquarium. It's been a while since I've been there, but it was exactly as I remembered when I used to go there as kid Amy: exciting, educational, fun..I was in awe of all the things mammal and amphibian like living there. Also saw a fatass squirrel in the parking lot.

Highlights from the aquarium were:

A cutie porpoise named Daisy who every time saw your camera, would swim towards you and hover so you can take a picture of her.

The dolphins who put on a show for their audience.

Sea otter high-fiving my cousin.

Hatpin urchins who just looked so badass.

natural born ninjas

A casual outfit I wore out for a night of drinks and singing tunes. What else would you wear if you were going to break out in song and dance complete with a cartwheel? I didn't do one, but if I had to, I would've been ready. Oh for sure.

This outfit was neutral and understated but I'm a believer that it's all in the details; the shimmer in the shirt, the grommets and woven detail on the hobo bag, a pair of sleek boots, and my new favourite ring from F21 gifted to me by my sister, made this look slightly more than ordinary.

On another note, wow my hair looks horrendous. It's been dry, tangly and so flat that I've resorted to tying it up like I'm ready to go to bed (refer to above pic).
So good thing I had an appointment with my stylist yesterday. I finally took the plunge and got a cut I've been contemplating about for several months now! I am such a chicken!

I got bangs! I know..it's not like I hacked off 8 inches or dyed it ruby red, but my hair is my security blanket and changing it scares the shit out of me. I'm sure that's why it took me ages to finally do it. I even backed out while in the salon and opted to just do side swept bangs. Big heavy side ones though! I reasoned. But my stylist and friend whom I've known for years, simply said no, we're doing it today. That's all the convincing I needed. And to make it as dramatic as possible, he took a chunk of my hair and ninja chopped it in one fell swoop.
As nervous as I was, he did an amazing job and my fringe turned out better than I hoped for. It'll be fun trying to play with different looks now:)

4: Getting lost in baby Noah's dark grey eyes.
5: Late night munchies at the new Denny's in Abbotsford. Yes, first Denny's there, ever.

8: Hangin with the girls. DJ J-swing was playing old school R&B. Doesn't get better than that.

Good food, good company. I always say I'm happiest when I'm surrounded by food and loved ones:)

What I wore to school the other day. A simple outfit, but I'm all about being comfortable when in class. Nothing sucks more than sitting in a 3-hour lecture wearing something that restricts your breathing to survival minimum. The leather jacket is from a couple of years ago and soft like butter. It's a little big, but I love the fact that I can layer something thick underneath it. Since then, Zara's selection of leather jackets have improved and still totally affordable. Time for another? Well, this one is a little big...

So what do business students do after they finish a case study on Stella Artois? Their prof takes them to the pub and buys a couple of pitchers. Okay fine, just my prof but that's because she's awesome. And as if my night couldn't get better, I arrive home to this lovely surprise:

Yes, I am rubbing it all in. I had a great day! Oh wait, except for 1) the fact that while I was in the midst of taking my outfit pics, my dad opened the door to see what I was up to. I didn't know what to say so I pretended to play with my shoes *embarrassed*..when I bent down, 2) Chima thought I wanted to play and got all excited. She dirtied my pants and shoes with mud crap..Okay fine, easily washable, but I felt bad about rubbing in my great day and tasty surprise.

Since this is my first ever outfit on the blog, I stayed up trying to think of what to wear. Something dope, something short?! I wanted to wear something cool (yay! me trying to be cool), but at the end, I decided on something I would actually wear (damnit, I just realized I'm kind of boring).
The bag was a purchase from H&M when I was in NYC. My favourite thing about this bag is that it has those toggle things so the strap will never flip funny. I bought the boots last year when the colour sold me. A classic khaki trenchcoat with cute details never goes out of style as proven by this jacket I got in HK three years ago.
